My much loved pictures on my bedroom walls especially my dear brother Sidney's clock he gave me for my birthday thirty or more years ago when he was still living in his home in Coeur d'Alene thirty or more years ago in their own home there. He did woodcrafting for a hobby and made many gifts for his friends and family at Christmas and birthdays.
This slab of a huge tree was about four inches thick. It was skinned and had polished edges, varnished. On one side he had made an opening large enough for two batteries to sit. They kept the clockworks going for many years maybe 30 years or so. In fact we just put in two new ones 2 weeks ago. The tree resembled a person sitting cross legged, arms folded in lap and head of hair, very beautiful. The front of the clock was beautifully varnished with second, minute, and hour hands in gold (color). He also gave me a lovely little stool, with weaved top and varnished legs (of course not on the wall!). It is so handy, too! At another time.
